Appearing as junior and as sole counsel for taxpayers and revenue authorities in tax, duties and commercial disputes, Matthew provides skilled advocacy and pragmatic and commercial advice in all spheres of litigation, pre-litigation and dispute resolution, as well as in relation to corporate transactions. He regularly advises in relation to stamp duty, payroll tax, land tax, income tax, goods and services tax and capital gains tax.
Prior to being called to the Bar, Matthew practised as Special Counsel at Minter Ellison in the Taxation Division and as a Senior Solicitor at Clayton Utz advising on real property, property funds, financial services and general corporate transactions.
Matthew is a Fellow of the Tax Institute and a Member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.
