Piotr has over 13 years’ experience advising on tax and commercial matters.
Prior to being called to the Bar, Piotr was a Senior Associate at Clayton Utz, a Senior Manager at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) and a solicitor at MinterEllison. Whilst working at PwC, Piotr was seconded to the tax team at BHP Billiton.
Over the years, he has assisted global multinationals, ASX listed entities, small to medium enterprises and high net worth individuals in advisory and dispute litigation contexts.
Piotr specialises in tax matters, and has presented and published numerous papers in this area. In 2017, he was invited by the International Fiscal Association to join a panel discussion at the Asia Pacific Regional Tax Conference in New Delhi, to discuss international tax developments. He is currently working with Professor Miranda Stewart at the University of Melbourne on the Australian chapter of the Global Tax Treaties Commentaries for the IBFD.
In addition to taxation, Piotr is regularly briefed to advise and appear in matters involving commercial disputes and statutory interpretation.
Piotr holds a Master of Laws from the University of Melbourne, and a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Queensland. He is a member of the Taxation Committee of the Law Council of Australia, a member of the Taxation Institute of Australia, a member of the International Fiscal Association and a Chartered Tax Adviser.
