Anthony has advised and appeared for public and private companies, banks and individuals. He has appeared in a wide range of commercial disputes in the Federal Court of Australia, the Supreme Court and other New South Wales courts and tribunals.
Anthony has developed a specialty in complex commercial litigation and tax controversy, including litigation, audits and objection disputes. The matters in which Anthony has advised and appeared have involved issues around corporations law, contractual disputes, banking and finance, insolvency, Australian and international taxation, cross-border enforcement, urgent freezing orders and injunctive relief, equity and real property, fiduciary duties, trust arrangements, shareholder remedies, restraints of trade and intellectual property.
Prior to being called to the Bar, Anthony practised as an Associate in the Commercial and Finance Department, Derivatives & Structured Finance Group, at Field Fisher Waterhouse LLP in London. He was also Legal Counsel at a Mitsubishi Corporation subsidiary engaged in commodity derivatives trading, and worked in the Fixed Income Currency and Commodity Swaps Department of Goldman Sachs in London.
Anthony is an Adjunct Lecturer at the College of Law, teaching commercial litigation subjects for the Masters course, including Corporations Litigation, Building & Construction, Insurance and Intellectual Property Disputes.
Anthony also speaks regularly at industry forums and is a contributing author to Robson’s Annotated Corporations Legislation (edited by the Hon R.I. Barrett), Thomson Reuters, Chapters 2H (shares), 2J (transactions affecting share capital) and 2L (debentures), as well as Parts 5.4A, 5.4B and 5.4C (winding up).
