Russ' principal areas of practice include taxation, tax crime, commercial law and equity.
Russ primarily advises and appears for taxpayers, corporations and individuals at trial and on appeal in both State and Federal Courts.
He is a former North Carolina State prosecutor and an experienced trial and appellate lawyer, having worked with major firms in the United States before settling in Australia in 2010.
Prior to being called to the Bar, Russ worked as a solicitor in tax crime and revenue matters with Hardinlaw in Sydney. He previously worked with Sydney-based specialty accounting firm, Genesis Accounting, as a tax advisor to businesses and government departments throughout Australia, with a focus on resolving complicated GST and FBT issues.
Russ holds a Master of Laws from the University of Sydney, a Juris Doctorate from Campbell University School of Law and a Bachelor of the Arts degree from Wake Forest University in the United States.
